  1. Remove catch basin grate
  2. Clean dirt and debris from grating ledge
  3. DP drain guard over the catch basin opening with the bag side of the filter inside the basin
  4. Loop safety strap threw bag's lift straps and secure to drain gate
  5. Replace the grating, securing the filter's fabric between the grating and the catch basin
  6. Cut the excess fabric off with a blade of knife if desired.
  7. Tighten safety strap
  • The level of accumulated sediment can be determined by probing with a measuring stick.
  • When the unit is approximately half full, it should be emptied, cleaned and reinstalled.
  • Drain guard may be heavy and require more than one person to lift out
  • The drain guard should be inspected on a regular basis.
